Bale set to break Spurs Heart as Soldado deal intensifies.

News that Gareth Bale has agreed a six year deal worth £8.5m per annum with Real Madrid emerged from Spain not long ago despite Spurs claim that the player won't be moving anywhere. It was also gathered that the player himself today requested a transfer from the club which would be a big blow to Spurs ambition of a Top-4 finish.

This particular news item just can't be waved aside as mere speculation as the paper that broke the news, Marca is renowned for the big stories. Brazilian Kaka's move to same Real in 2009 was first broken by this paper, same as the Ronaldo move the same year from Manchester United to Real Madrid again. And to press home it's strong connection to the club, the paper was also first to the news of Luka Modric's move from..wait for it, Spurs to Real Madrid in July last year. And to think this latest story is being made a front page exclusive further lends credence to the story.

In the meantime, the club is still in the hunt for Soldado despite having its initial bid for the player turned down. Valencia are holding out for their valuation of the player at £28m while Spurs are looking to up their second bid above their initial £20m offer. As can be seen below, Spurs sporting Director Franco Baldini is still in Spain holding talks with the player's agent.
