Wimbledon 2013 Women, An open game

With the Top 3 seeds out of the Women's draw, this years Wimbledon is shaping up to be one of the most open in recent years. Heavily favoured Serena Williams lost to the very impressive Sabine Lisicki in what was one of the best matches of the tournament, leaving Agnesia Radwanska as the highest ranked player left in the tournament. along with five other Top-20 ranked players.

I really fancy Sabine if she plays as well as she did against Serena while the equally impressive Na Li appeals. Despite being the highest ranked player left, i really don't see Radwanska winning this as her game is too defensive and lacks the needed aggression required at the very top. Luckily for her, the only power-hitting player left in the draw is Sabine and if she avoids her, she could be in with a chance. However, of all the lots, my heart goes with the American teenager Sloane Stephens. Her game is good enough to worry any woman on the tour, and that includes Serena. She is so young, full of energy and with bags of confidence at the moment she could go all the way to the final. Wimbledon 2011 champion, Kvitova is another one good enough albeit, she hasn't really impressed me in her run to the 1/4 finals.

This may not go down as the best Final ever considering the quality of players left but it certainly would be one not to forget, as the chances of having a new Grand Slam winner looks very promising.

Sad to see Serena exit so soon but now my money is on Kvitova to blast away the rest of the field. This year's winner is really hard to call and yes it's indeed open.

Enny, i am surprised you didn't give Bartoli a mention in your write up. Now that she has beaten the American girl to get to the Semis, who are your hot picks to make the final?

@Anonymus..It's a tough call but i'll go for a Radwanska v Bartoli final. In my heart, it's a Sabine v Bartoli but Radwanska is no push-over....ditto Flipkens. I'd say fingers crossed.
