Wimbledon 2013 Women's Final Preview: Bartoli V Lisicki. Who wears the Crown?

Back again to Women's Tennis and where else but the Wimbledon Final on Saturday. For readers that enjoy a flutter i'm sure my last Semi-Final preview and predictions were very useful. So, who wears the crown on Saturday?

For the stats, this is the first final in 15years featuring two players not considered as possible finalists, let alone winners when the tournament began two weeks ago but here we are and getting set to witness a new face as the champion of Wimbledon.. Novotna V Tauziat in Wimbledon 1998 easily comes to mind.

Back to the match itself, although Sabine is the overwhelming favourite to win on Saturday, she however needs to be at her best to achieve this. Her opponent, Bartoli, is a very tricky, tough and experienced player who has been in a Grand Slam final before and therefore should know how to handle the pressure. My only worry for Bartoli is her unorthodox style of play which takes a lot from her, energy wise. Playing against a very strong, athletic and mobile player like Sabrine means she must be ready to cover lots of miles which her double-handed style requires.

Sabine's serve throughout the tournament has been brilliant. Likewise her strokes and movement on the court. Add on top of all these is her newly-formed relationship with the Centre court crowd who will definitely be rooting for her. But how does all these count against an opponent yet to drop a set in the entire championship?

Verdict: Sabine's major worry is how quickly she settles down. If she's able to conquer her nerves and gets into her rhythm very early, then the match could be over very quickly as i foresee her breaking Bartoli's serves at will. For Bartoli to win, it's got to be in 2 sets as i don't see her being able to match Sabine;s power for 3 set. For a player of Bartoli's age, my heart wishes she win afterall her opponent still got lots of years in her but something in my head says it is SABRINE in 2 sets.
